Bella is a journalist and on the case of a serial killer who leaves behind a sign – a red ribbon. While investigating the crimes, she realizes they all have something in common – her. Genetic experiments, keys that might be the ultimate cure or a lethal weapon in the wrong hands, this fic has it all.
It is not for the faint-hearted, as the characters die a thousand deaths and are always surrounded by danger.
What I most enjoyed is Edward’s passion and this strong Bella, as well as their love story which blossoms in the middle of chaos (quite literally).
The story may seem hard to read at times as the plot thickens, but it is well worth as it is beautifully written. Secondary characters are also well shaped, and it is intriguing to guess who is friend or foe, from volatile Emmett to femme fatal Rosalie, Alice, the doctor, broken soldier Jasper, to mastermind Carlisle and his nemesis Aro, or corrupt Charlie. The main characters also evolve, and although morals are a hard line to draw in this story, it is a tale of hope, the connection of souls, and yes – love.
